What's in it? :
the game is almost the same compared to its predecessor - MonTowers..
basically there are:
- Towers (of course) which you need to explore and conquer
- Monsters to battle and capture
- Monster Skill(s)
- Monster Coins used for summoning Monsters
- Monster Class (Normal, Elder, & Master), which gives your Monsters additional skills, better stats, or at least better and sexier costumes
- Monster Slot which according to the game developer(s) is now increased but is limited to 80
- Token(s) which is the currency used inside the game to purchase various stuff
- Gems which are additional requirements for summoning or training and evolving
- Potions which are used to heal your Monsters
- and Gacha, the gambling mini-game wherein you can acquire very rare Monsters & other valuable items
What's New? :
well, i'd say that the game has become more difficult to play now and has been more dependent on Tokens..
the new features are:
- MonTowers2 is an Online Game so it requires internet connection (stable internet connection)
- More Complicated Math
the math involved in the battle system for this version is much more complicated compared to the first version..
unlike in the first, where the amount of damage (taken or delivered) are almost constant and very much predictable, this online version has added lots of stuff in its computation, thus the numbers vary for every battle..
the new parameters that are taken into consideration are the; Monster stats in general, defense stat, Sub-Monster boost, Leader Skill bonus, Formation Bonus, Friend Bonus, Combo Bonus, Monster Level, Monster source (or where you can catch it; are they from regular Towers or Event Towers), Monster Class, Monster Specie, and Attribute...
- Battle Points which is like the LIMITED energy used or required to perform battles
unlike the first version of this game, you can longer fight whenever you want..
you'll need to have Battle Points or BP to do so..
and you also got to have the same amount of Battle Points required to fight a certain type of Monster before you can battle it..
it is a common mechanism utilized in some combat type online games..
it's like a system used to limit your game activity (which is also useful, since it gives you time to occasionally rest)..
at this point, the MAXIMUM amount of Battle Points for every player is set to 200 only..
and the time required to replenish or recover one (1) Battle Point is 10 minutes...
- BP Potions which are used to restore the precious Battle Points
these potions come in 5, 10 and 20 denomination...
- Dead Monster Recovery
unlike in the first MonTowers where dead Monsters should be summoned and/or evolved again to return to your team..
dead Monsters in MonTowers2 are resurrected over time depending on their level..
this is probably due to the high value and great effort needed for leveling up and rebirthing Monsters...
- 99 Item Limit
the number of items (Gems, Monster Coins, Essences, HP Potions, as well as the different BP Potions) that can be acquired in this version is limited to ONLY 99..
for Gems, you can just let them stay full when they are not in use, since they are quite easy to refill..
but for Monster Coins, Essences, HP Potions & BP Potions, i suggest you make use of them whenever they reach the limit or when they are about to get full, since you can't tell when you'll get a drop of that same item...
- Level Up
unlike in MonTowers where you only need to evolve Monsters in order for their stats to get higher, in MonTowers2 Monsters need to reach a certain level in order for them to evolve and also for their stats to get higher..
EXP for Monsters are obtained for every successful battle and for every Monster of yours who did not get killed in that particular battle..
using Training Materials (Essences) is the better way to Level Up your Monsters compared to doing battles...
- Evolution Monster Coins are specific items (Monster drop) which are necessary to complete an evolution
- Essences (Attribute & Species) which are used to train and level up your Monsters faster
they add EXP Points to the Monster which you are training, this is a lot faster compared to gaining EXP through battles or Raids..
also, BONUS EXP Points are given whenever you use Essences to train Monsters which are of the same Specie type or Attribute...
- Species & Attribute, which are additional identifiers used in categorizing each Monsters
for Attribute, there's Light, Dark & Neutral..
and for Species, there's Humanoid, Undead, Immortal, Beast, Spirit, & Ancient..
each of these identifiers are useful in determining the proper Essences to be used to train or level up a specific Monster, or in the creation of your team's formation in order to acquire optimum stats bonuses..
in addition to these, Monsters can also be categorized according to their stats or based stats..
there's the Attack-type, HP-type, Defense-type, and the Balanced-type..
these identifiers are also useful in team formation...
- Rebirth
a process in MonTowers2 where summoners can reset their Monsters who have reached their maximum level back to Level 1..
by undergoing Rebirth, that Monster gets a better starting stats which according to the game is equivalent to 20% of the Monsters developed stats before undergoing Rebirth..
also, Rebirth can be done several times depending on a Monster's Class..
so basically Rebirth is a way for your Monsters to grow stronger...
- [EX] Monsters
occasionally (i'm not yet sure about the exact probability), summoners can summon [EX] Monsters which is an improved version of every type of Monster in the game..
it is 'physically' the same Monster, but with (according to the game) 200% of that particular Monster's normal or usual base stats..
so one of the formula for getting stronger in this game = summoning strong [EX] Monsters + undergoing complete Rebirth...
- Monster Formation is a new system wherein your Monsters can get different types of boosts depending on how you form your team
Main Monsters serve as your primary attackers..
Sub-Monsters on the other hand serve as support to your Main Monsters..
Sub-Monsters directly provide or add 10% of their current stats to the Main Monster to which they are attached to..
dead Monsters cannot join in battles nor serve as Sub-Monsters, though they can still be used to join the various type of Raids...
- Leader Skill
every Monster in the game has their own Leader Skill..
the various type may affect the stats, the damage taken by your team members, the damage delivered by your team, etc..
only the skill of the Leader Monster or the first monster in your formation can be active...
- Achievements
mostly related to collection and the number of accomplished Monster battles..
they provide very nice rewards once you complete them, especially when you accomplish the last level or stage...
- Quests
all Quests are related or can only be performed in the basic towers..
accomplishing each Quest will reward you at least with EXP or also with useful items..
there's the Story Quest which progresses as you unlock and as you climb each Tower in the game, and is limited in number..
and also, there are Daily Quests which are generated regularly...
- Friends are other summoners or players which you have invited or have invited you within the game so you can be allies with them
you can use your Friend's Leader Monster to boost the stats of your own Team..
10% of the stats of your Friend's Leader Monster is added to each of your Main Monsters' stats, plus whatever is the effect of that Monster's Leader Skill..
but after Level 10 (if i'm not mistaken), it will take some time (cooldown time) before you can make use of that Friend's Monster again..
as of now, the MAXIMUM number of Friends which a player can have is only 50..
so be wise enough to choose your allies...
- Friendship Gacha which is another gambling mini-game
Friendship Gacha is another form of Gacha in MonTowers2..
but unlike the normal Gacha, this type only consumes Friendship Points..
Unique Monsters (as well as Legend Monsters) cannot be obtained through this type of Gacha, but you can still acquire the other types of regular Monsters from this, as well as some valuable items for the game..
this Gacha can be helpful in completing your Monster Coin collection and making them reach the 99 Coin LIMIT...
- Free Gacha Ticket which are used to gamble in the Gacha mini-game instead of using the valuable Tokens
- Friendship Points are points given in the game which you can use to gamble in the Friendship Gacha mini-game
these points are earned for accomplishing certain game Achievements, whenever your Friend(s) uses your Leader Monster to aid them in their battles, and whenever you Level UP...
- Raids (World Raid, Friend Raid, & Private Raid) where in you can capture or acquire very rare Monsters and Mix Monster recipes
World Raids are scheduled, and in here you can get EXCLUSIVE Monsters which can only be acquired by finishing the Raid with a certain HIGH RANK..
Friend Raids are Raids opened or started by your Friends, you can join this Raid and upon successful completion you may get the chance to get rare rewards or Monster recipes..
Private Raids on the other hand are just like Friend Raids, they happen RANDOMLY after doing battles in the Regular Towers, but this time it is YOU who can open or start it, they also provide the same rewards just like from Friend Raids...
- Event Towers which are generated whenever there's an event of a certain theme or towers which are generated based on a schedule
- Evolution Towers wherein you can acquire Evolution Monster Coins, also generated depending on a schedule
- Sexier Fan Service :)

Gaming Tips:
Monster Choice Tips:
- ATK-type or the Attack-type Monsters are the most useful in this game
for Raids, all you need to consider are Monsters with 25,000+ - 30,000+ fully developed ATK points and their type (it's better to know them first before starting to play), individual Monster skills are not useful in this area..
why??
because the more ATK means the more Tokens and BP Potions that you can save in World Raids, and the higher the rank you can achieve..
but in creating a hunting team, the skill(s) should also be considered and not just the ATK points..
because the more effective the skill - the faster you can kill your enemy...
- Defensive Monsters for hunting
these Monsters are not strictly limited to the DEF-type or defense-type of Monsters..
any Monster who have damage reduction skill, high HP, great defense, or skills that can provide cover for your other Main Monsters can be considered a defensive monster..
they'd be helpful in hunting for very tough enemies...
- HP-type Monsters for hunting
you may consider any HP-type Monster whose HP can exceed 100,000 once fully rebirthed..
as a Sub-Monster, they'd be helpful in boosting the HP of your Main Monster so they won't get easily killed in battle...
- Rebirth ONLY those worthy [EX] Monsters
rebirthing is quite an expensive task..
so i suggest you only fully Rebirth those [EX] Monsters who can be of great use for you...
Hunting (or Farming) & [EX]ing Monsters:
- for hunting (especially Unique Monsters), i think there's a way to catch them easier, but i won't share my idea for now coz i'm still playing the game and for now i wouldn't want other players to get better than me coz i still need some decent ranking in the World Raids :p
- for [EX]ing or turning your Monsters into their [EX] versions
my first tip is that once you get a hold of a Monster that is worth [EX]ing, immediately summon it because the probability of getting it [EX]ed at first summon is slightly higher compared to the succeeding summons..
also, if you successfully get it [EX]ed at first summon, then that would save you more time and Tokens since you no longer have to hunt for more than what is actually needed, 7 Monster Coin for every Monster is enough to evolve and fully Rebirth it..
but, if you don't get an [EX] at first summon, the tip is to hunt and store the Monster Coin first and just summon them by batch.. like in my case, for now i always collect 7 Unique Monster Coin (since 7 is the maximum requirement for completing the Rebirth) before i summon them in a row, and just hope that an [EX] would appear even before you run out of Coins.. :D
if it fails, then just go and collect 7 or more Coins again before doing the batch summoning...
Level Up Tips:
- when you have a Monster to Level Up, always collect Essences and Evolution Monster Coins during their respective schedules
- as much as possible use ONLY the appropriate Essences to train your Monsters
- maximize on days when there's Bonus for training Monsters, this way you'll be able to save on your Essences
- try to keep your Monsters at the same Level so you can always acquire the Level Bonus for Formation
- always keep at least 1 (one) type of Attribute Essence for each size since they are sometimes required for evolution
Token & Free Gacha Ticket Tips:
-accomplish game Achievements whenever you have time and Battle Points coz they give very nice rewards, especially Tokens and Free Gacha Tickets
whenever you have extra Battle Points (after completing Daily Quests and hunting), use them to work on your Achievements..
accomplish each Achievement (especially those for collection) one at a time..
whenever there's a Bonus for Drop Rate, take that opportunity to collect Rare Monster Coins because they drop a lot easier when there's a bonus..
and when there's no Bonus, just collect the Common and Uncommon Monster Coins since it's quite easy to get those..
once you have collected all the Common, Uncommon, and Rare Monster Coins, then you can proceed collecting the Legend, and eventually the Unique ones..
try not to use the Monster Coins until you've completed their respective Collection Achievement, this type of Achievement is strictly based on the current number of Monster Coins that you have, so just keep your Coins so you won't have to repeat capturing the same Monster again and again..
and always keep at least 1 (one) Monster Coin for each type of Monster found in the basic towers coz they are quite useful in completing a specific type of Daily Quest...
World Raid Tips:
- increase your Battle Points to MAXIMUM (200 BP)
this way you can maximize on the number of times you can deliver an attack on the World Raid for every full replenishment of your Battle Points (whether it's through Level Up or by paying 10 Tokens for it)..
as of now, 8 Battle Points is the cost for every single attack in the World Raid..
so that is 200 Total Battle Points at MAX/8 Battle Points per Attack = 25 Attacks for every full BP replenishment..
also, you should always calculate your EXP when you are about to Level Up already, coz you wouldn't want to spend a lot of Tokens on Battle Points if you won't be able to maximize on its use..
i suggest you only use BP Potions when you are about to Level Up
- you can bet your Tokens in World Raids so you can earn more Tokens
what i mean is that you can replenish your Battle Points using your Tokens or BP Potions..
remember that at maximum (200 BP), 10 Tokens is ONLY equivalent to 10 20BP Potions, 20 10BP Potions, or 40 5BP Potions..
then join the raid and aim for a rank where you can get Token rewards which should be greater that what you have spent...
- join the World Raid ONLY when you are sure to get something from it
- estimate your competitors' damage and compare it to yours
- always attack in the World Raid at least once, doing so will automatically provide you with some EXP, a random reward item (usually an Essence of any size), and the reward set given after the World Raid has ended which depends on your rank
I love your explanations, tips, and guide on Montowers.
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be very dedicated.
I have a question: do you know how to level up the leader bonuses (Like Attack & Dodge rate+10% up)? I only know how to level up the skills.
thank you for your appreciation.. :D
ReplyDeleteas for the Leader Skills, it's the same as the basic Skills..
you just have to look for monsters (lower class monsters, since they are easier to catch and stock) with the same Leader Skill as the one that you are going to level up..
I believe there's a Wiki now about MonTowers 2, though i don't think it is complete yet.. but there should be a list of Leader Skills there..
another way is to catch every monster (Common to Rare) & just check on their respective Leader Skills..
then, if you want the Leader Skill level up to go faster or more recognizable, I suggest you wait for the day when there's a scheduled bonus for Skill level up..
I hope that helps.. :)
Theres not really much english information on montowers2 out there so this was great, but i still have a few questions.
ReplyDelete- When i try to resummon a monster it says i already summoned it. Do I have to delete the monster and then summon?
- Is it possible to level tiana? I see her in my friends list thing but at lvl 1
hi there, (Unknown)!
Delete1) regarding resummon:
a) well, unlike in Montowers, your monsters in MonTowers 2 are not removed from your team once they are defeated in battle.. instead they are resurrected over a period of time depending on its current level.. also, their current level & evolution stage will remain the same if they die..
b) like in MonTowers, there can only be one monster of a certain name in your team, meaning you can't summon monsters of the same name at the same time.. if you want to resummon a monster, first you'll have to delete it, then you can do the resummon (but it will require a new Monster Coin for that specific monster).. usually, we only do the resummon if we want to get the [EX] version of a certain strong monster...
2) regarding Tiana:
before i retired from playing the game, there was no option to level her up.. the only thing you can do with her is to change her costume if you can obtain some from World Raids.. and as a friend, you can choose her to boost the stats of your team during battle...
i hope that helps...
if you want to know more, you may join this Facebook Group, there are still active members/players there: https://www.facebook.com/groups/748579398524014/

since you've already retired from this game. can you share your technique on how to catch unique monsters ? thank you very much
ReplyDeletelet's see..
Deletemy technique before was:
1) hunt for or have a decent hunting team:
- Monsters at level 75 or 100
- Attack-type Monsters (something which can kill the enemy in just one or a few turns)
- level up ONLY their most effective offensive Skills, and their other support skills, as well as their useful Leader Skills (doing so will increase the rate by which your Monster will use that Skill during battle)
- if they are [EX] Monsters, have them do the Rebirth but make sure you can raise them again back to Level 75 at least
as for my previous hunting team, i made use of (but do NOTE that this is not yet the best hunting team out there, coz Astaroth is not an optimum hunter so she can still be replaced):
[EX] Astaroth, [EX] Dragonian, [EX] (Soul Attacker)
- if i can kill the monster in one round, i usually go for Astaroth as the Leader so my team's attack is boosted at maximum
- but if the enemy is a bit sturdy and does high damage, i usually go with Dragonian as the Leader to boost both HP and ATK
2) Level Up as a Summoner, doing so will give yourself a Bonus which increases your catch rate.. i think (before) it goes up for every 100 Level
3) stock Potions to aid you during hunting (i never buy Potions, i just get them as Rewards or as drop from battles)
4) stock Tokens (use Tokens to refill your energy during hunting.. the more you battle a specific Unique Monster, the more chances that you'll catch it, but i only do the refill for 3 to 5 times and just wait for the next hunting schedule if i don't catch any Unique)
5) you don't have to go for the Extreme Hard Mode Towers to catch Unique Monsters, you can just go for the Normal Mode Towers, the drop rate there is a little lower (5% i think) but it costs less Energy and it'll be easier and faster to kill the enemies
6) know the schedule of when your target(s) will appear
7) take the opportunity whenever there are Events or Drop Rate Bonuses
i hope this helps... :)

DeleteNice guide! I have a question: is it possible for the unique coins in the main quest towers to drop? Thanks!
ReplyDeletethank you for the appreciation... :)
Deleteyes, that's possible..
but during the time when i was still a player i did notice that the Unique Coins there seem harder to get compared to those found in the Event Towers..
so i just hunt for those Regular Bosses' Unique Coins ONLY when there's a DROP RATE BONUS, and i just did this to complete my coin collection...
but if you're hunting for a worthy Unique Coin, i say that the Fallen Angel is the only worthy monster there in the Regular Towers... :)
i hope this helps... :)
Yes, thank you!
DeleteDo you have any Information in regards to the Mix recipes? I've been trying to get the darn things but so far I've only gotten a single recipe. there is literally no explanation on how to get them beyond just "participating in a friends raid". Does the raid have to be cleared? is there something that determines probability of dropping a recipe? is it all just up to RNG and horridly low drop rates?
ReplyDeletehello there!
Deletewell, unfortunately you can ONLY acquire those Mix Recipes from the Basic Raids..
if the process is still the same up to now, then the criteria is like this (there are 3 types of participation):
Reward 1) you get a reward if you yourself is the one who opened the Raid event
Reward 2) you get reward if you participate on your own Raid or those which were opened by other players (one attack is enough to get you qualified)
Reward 3) you get another reward if you are the player who delivers the final blow in order to kill the Raid Monster
Rewards will only be given if the Raid Monster was successfully killed...
the reward item is random..
but doing the 3 types of participation in Friendly Raids can increase your chances of getting more rewards and the Mix Recipes that you are after...
but based on my personal experience, i got most of my Mix Recipes just by contributing attacks (just a single attack per Raid) in Raids opened by other players..
considering this, i think it's an advantage if you have a lot of Friends who are active and opening their own Raids...
if you'll ask me, the Jester/Joker (i forgot the name) is the only Mix Monster worth hunting for because of its Soul Attack and its Leader Skill...
and my final tip is - don't finish a Raid by yourself, coz that will only waste your precious BP (Battle Points)...
i hope this helps... :)
PS:
Deleteif you want to hunt alone..
there's a guide on where to find each type of Mix Monster (i forgot where)..
it tells what particular Monsters from the Basic Towers to attack in order to trigger a certain Raid Monster event..
that way, you can focus on a single Mix Recipe during your hunt...
maybe you can ask for some help in the Facebook group called, Montowers 2 (International)..
i used to be part of that group, and got some of my guides from there...
i hope this helps too... :)
Um, I have another question, take your time though. Recently, I pulled 2 Cash Gacha, with tickets, and received 2 common monster coins... is the Cash Gacha Rare+ coins or all, including common? Thanks!
ReplyDeletepardon me for the very late reply..
Delete(i lost my internet connection for a long time)...
i'm no longer familiar with the actual terms..
but what i remember is there is a Gacha which uses Tokens or the Free Gacha Ticket & a Gacha which uses another form of payment...
- for the Gacha which uses Tokens or Free Gacha Ticket, here's where you can instantly get Rare to Unique types of Monster Coins
- and for the other Gacha which uses a payment which is easier to achieve, if i remember it correctly; you can get Common to Rare Monster Coins from there, Tokens, and some other items
More questions from me, <3.
ReplyDelete1) Is it worth refilling BP with tokens when farming for a particular monster essence (Wild Beast, Undead, etc.)?
2) Do you know how much Exp is needed to get a unique monster coin from lvl 1 - lvl 100? Or, do you remember how many (L) species essences are needed to get there? Or... perhaps know if the amount of Exp needed per level increases by some set ratio (if that's true, then I guess I could figure it out myself :p).
2.1) Do different unique monsters have different amounts of required Exp?
3) Is it a good idea to use up all BP charges before refilling with tokens?
4) In your opinion, is it worth pulling cash gacha with tokens when there is a 500% up drop rate on ALL unique monster coins?
5) Can all unique coins be acquired by battle, or are there some that are exclusively cash gacha? (excluding world raid coins)
PS) There's a new world raid boss appearing on April 25th- if you're interested.
Thanks!
1) yes that's practical to invest on those since Essences are very valuable (and is the easiest way) for Leveling Up, but just a tip - for me, i only use them to train my Monsters whenever there's a Bonus for Training in order to maximize the use of such items...
DeleteEssences related to Monster's Species gives more EXP points compared to Essences related to Attributes...
2) yes, there's a fix value for the EXP requirements from Level 1 to 100 (and that's constant even after every Rebirth).. so it would really be helpful for you to note those, so you won't waste any EXP points from those valuable Essences - for me, i only make use of those (Large) Essences from Level 75 to 100...
as per my old note, it's like this for Unique Monsters:
- Level 1 to 50 > 167,870 EXP points
- Level 50 to 75 > 439,750 EXP points
- Level 75 to 100 > 975,620 EXP points
2.1) the EXP requirement (back then) was the same for each Rarity type, with Unique Monsters having the biggest amount needed.. this is the reason why sometimes it is better to first make use of strong Legendary Monsters since they are easier to raise...
3) yes of course, if you'll involve using the valuable Tokens in refilling your BP Points then it would always be wiser to use every point before doing the refill (maybe try to accomplish Daily Missions or collect some easy Coins)
4) nope, it is easier to just hunt for them rather than gamble your Tokens.. i've wasted a lot of Tokens on that scam before...
5) my assumption is YES - since (before) the Game Developers tend to always provide Event Towers for every Unique Monsters that they feature...
PS) i can't play anymore, i already lost the game on my tablet... XD
Hey, could you tell me what your tactic to farm unique monsters? If you already stopped playing, of course!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for the tips, I read all :)
- first, get your Battle Points to max level, so it won't be a waste if you use your Tokens to refill it
Delete- second, ONLY use Tokens to refill your Battle Points when your BP reaches zero, if you still have some BP left, just go to lower level towers to spend them
- third, focus on a certain Unique Monster as your target, just stay on a specific tower level where you are hunting and don't move from one tower to another so hastily
- fourth, limit your budget when hunting for Unique, like in my case i usually just spend for 3 to 5 refills in every hunt, if i don't catch any Unique within that limit then i just change target or wait for the next schedule for that specific Unique monster to come out
- fifth, just aim for the lower level Unique monsters since they cost less BP and are easier to defeat, though they say that the higher level Unique Monsters are easier to catch, it costs a lot of time and potions just to beat them, so it's much wiser to hunt for the weaker versions, coz the more kills - the more chances of catching that Unique...
well, i hope this helps... :)
I thought you did not answer. kk
DeleteThanks man, i will try it :)
